May 1951   Incorporation The company was incorporated and the name changed to Sakamoto Yakuhin Kogyo Co., Ltd.
April 1953   Morinomiya factory established Manufacture of glycerin was begun.
April 1961   Higashi-osaka factory established Coloring of synthetic resins was begun in Higashi-osaka.
May 1964   Kyobashi factory established The Morinomiya factory was relocated to enable expansion of production.
June 1967   Daito factory established The Higashi-osaka factory was relocated to Daito to reinforce the synthetic resin coloring business.
July 1967   Synthetic glycerin Japan's first synthetic glycerin was commercialized.
October 1970   Senboku factory established The Kyobashi factory was relocated in the Senboku Seaside Industrial Zone in Izumiotsu and the production of glycerin and specialty chemicals reinforced.
May 1978   Tokyo branch established The branch was opened in the Daiichi Tekko Building, Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo.
October 1985   Research and development
laboratory established
The laboratory was opened on land adjoining the Senboku factory.
February 1990   SOCC operational Production of glycerin was begun in the Philippines.
May 1992   Share capital increase Share capital was increased to Yen 920.6 million.
September 1993   Ako factory established 44,298 square meters of land was acquired in the Shimizu Industrial Complex in AkoCity, Hyogo Prefecture and the initial phase of construction completed. The second phase of construction was completed in September 1994.
April 2000   Diglycerin operational Production of diglycerin was begun in the Philippines.
May 2002   Brominated epoxy flame retardants Production of Brominated epoxy flame retardants launched at SOCC factory.
October 2009   Singapore Representative Office (Sakamoto Singapore) established Sakamoto Singapore was set up as the overseas representative office for the Asian market.
